The left-back was born in Jega, Kebbi State of Nigeria on June 13, 1997 and has played his entire professional career in Portugal with different clubs.
Sanusi was highly rated in his teenage years and caught the attention of Portuguese Primeira Liga club, Gil Vicente who signed the 19-year-old in 2016.
In January 2017, he was loaned to Portuguese third-division club SC Mirandela where he impressed and got signed permanently as a free agent in 2018.
A year later he was on the move again, this time to Santa Clara where he made his Portuguese top-flight debut and caught the eye of his current club FC Porto who signed him in 2020.

Zaidu Sanusi has exclusively played in Portugal over the course of his career so far across different leagues for four different teams.
Sanusi began his club career at Portuguese Primera Liga club Gil Vincente, after leaving Jega United academy in 2016, He was loaned to SC Mirandela, a third-division team, in January 2017.
Sanusi joined Mirandela on a free transfer in 2018 and only played three games for the club before moving to Santa Clara in the summer of 2019.
