Yusuf Chippo takes charge of struggling Murang’a Seal, vowing to fight for FKF Premier League survival after Njogu's exit.
Newly appointed Murang’a Seal head coach Yusuf Chippo is optimistic about turning around the club’s fortunes as he officially takes charge following the exit of John Njogu.
The FKF Premier League side confirmed Chippo’s appointment on Tuesday just a few days after a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Shabana FC that saw Njogu step down from the helm.
Chippo brings a wealth of experience to the Murang’a-based outfit as many remember him for guiding Ulinzi Stars to three straight KPL titles between 2003 and 2005 and serving as Harambee Stars' assistant coach from 2008 to 2011.

'Everyone should be very much afraid'- Benni McCarthy begins building a fearsome Harambee Stars squad
Benni McCarthy is determined to transform Harambee Stars into a dominant force in African football ahead of the upcoming CHAN tournament.
Chippo's arrival comes at a critical point in Murang’a Seal’s season, with the club just two points above bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars.
Seal have endured a difficult second half of the season managing just 24 points from 25 matches.
The Black and Yellow have nine matches remaining to the end of the 2024/2025 season and his experience and the talent within the squad can be enough to secure safety.
“No duty is impossible, and everything we set our sights on, we can achieve. We just need to put in the work,” said the former Ulinzi Stars boss.
“Seals is a good outfit and I am confident we can turn things around and give the fans what they are all hoping for.”
