AFC Leopards forced to share spoils with youthful Kariobangi Sharks in tight encounter.

AFC Leopards were brought back down to earth by Kariobangi Sharks, who forced them to a 0-0 draw a few days after they had recorded their first win of the season against Nzoia Sugar away at

Victor Omune made his first start of the season in place of Victor ‘Aguero’ Otieno after recovering from a three-month injury as head coach Tomas Trucha sought for ways to keep his momentum running

The match produced very few chances in the first half with neither team really creating real inroads in the other’s final third.

In the 18th minute, right back Luke Namanda danced  past his markers before finding himself in a good position to break the deadlock with a superb opener, but the Sharks goalkeeper Bernard Jairo stood tall to deny him.

The game continued being tight, and both coaches needed to rally their teams at half time in efforts to break the deadlock.

Ingwe resorted to trying to create by winning freekicks on the edge of the area, and Omune won a free kick on the edge of the area which looked promising for the 13-time league champions, but they could not make advantage of the opportunity.

In the 81st minute, Leopards created arguably their biggest opportunity of the match when Victor Omune executed an exquisite through ball to striker Brian Yakhama, before the former Talanta striker attempted a shot which forced Jairo into making a good save.

Both sides just could not get a way to get the better of each other, and in the end, they had to settle for just one point.

Leopards have now gotten five points for the season, while Kariobangi Sharks are now on 13 points.
