How Shabana's Brian Michira is drawing inspiration from Mathew Tegisi's Harambee Stars call-up
Brian Michira has been instrumental for Shabana as his pace and trickery down the flank has made them make a dramatic surge up the table.
As preparations intensify, the Shabana forward is confident that his scoring prowess for the Glamour Boys will earn him a place on the final roster heading to Zanzibar.
“The camp is looking well because it is local players that we meet in the league, so you feel very at home with them. It’s a good feeling to meet them here, so I’m very happy,” Michira shared while in camp.
“We have gained a lot of experience already. Even when we go back to our clubs, I feel that I have picked something valuable.”
The forward emphasized the significance of a national team call-up, describing it as a dream for any footballer.
“Being called up to the national team is everyone’s dream who plays football. I’ll be very happy if I get the chance to represent the country. I will do whatever it takes because I believe in myself. You get called up based on the form you have shown with your club in the league,” Michira added.
Michira’s contributions to Shabana this season have been remarkable. He has scored seven goals, playing a pivotal role in lifting the team out of the relegation zone after a challenging start to the campaign.
His red-hot scoring streak has not only revitalized the Glamour Boys but also caught the attention of the national selectors.
