Tanzanian giants Yanga have wasted little time in finding a replacement for Argentine coach Miguel Gamondi who was sacked earlier on Friday following the unveiling of a new tactician.

Tanzanian champions Yanga have unveiled German-born Bosnian Sead Ramovic as their new coach just hours after parting ways with Argentine tactician Miguel Angel Gamondi on Friday.

Yanga ended Gamondi’s one-and-a-half-year spell in charge of the Dar es Salaam giants, his sacking coming after back-to-back league losses, while the club are second on the table, just a point behind bitter rivals Simba.

The league winners have wasted little time in finding a replacement with Ramovic’s appointment confirmed on Friday afternoon, ending speculation over the identity of the new man in the dugout.

Ramovic arrives two weeks after leaving South African club TS Galaxy, where he worked for three years, before resigning live on TV to the shock of fans.

After watching his team record a 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC in a league match on October 26, Ramovic confirmed his departure during a post-match interview, claiming he had missed his family and needed to go back home.

“I’d like to say that from now, I’ll resign, I’m not anymore the head coach of this club,” he said during the interview on SuperSport TV.

“To spend time with my family, (I’ve spent) a lot of energy in the last three years,” he added.

Now, he begins a new chapter in Tanzania where he has the big task of challenging Simba, who are rejuvenated under South African tactician Fadlu Davids.

Yanga have won the Tanzanian Premier League in the last three years but their stranglehold is under threat from Simba, who top the table on 25 points from 10 matches, with the champions one adrift.

They suffered back-to-back league losses, 1-0 reverse to Azam before an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Tabora United, before Gamondi was sacked.
