Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has confirmed the club’s interest in bringing Lionel Messi back to the Camp Nou
Lionel Messi’s future has dominated the footballing world in recent days with several reports emanating from Spain regarding the World Cup winner’s potential return to Barcelona.
Messi left the Blaugrana in a cloud of confusion after club President Joan Laporta spent several months convincing everyone of the plan to renew the Argentine, only to reveal the club did not have the finances needed to register his signature.
PSG swooped in to acquire Messi on a two year deal and that contract expires this summer with both parties yet to renew.

Xavi gives update on Messi return
Barcelona coach, Xavi, speaking in a press conference ahead of the club’s LaLiga game against Elche, was asked about the return of Barcelona’s highest goal scorer of all time.
“This is not the time to talk about his return. I talk a lot with him. It's a topic that we are working on. Hopefully, we can see him at Barca again. It's the club of his life."
Messi’s return will clearly return the club’s profile to where it used to be but it will be intriguing to see how they pull this off and more importantly, how he fits into Xavi’s system.
Barcelona are first in LaLiga, 12 points clear of eternal rivals Real Madrid.
