France's World Cup star could stand in the way of Osimhen's Bayern Munich move after he emerged as a cheaper alternative
French World Cup star Randal Kolo Muani could be an obstacle in the way of Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen’s summer move to Bayern Munich move after it emerged that the striker emerged as a cheaper candidate for the Bavarians.
Bayern get alternative to Osimhen
It is no secret that Bayern Munich are in the market for a striker this summer, despite retaining the services of Cameroonian forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and youngster Mathys Tel.
The Bundesliga club have been linked with a number of centre-forwards ahead of the summer, including the Nigerian sensation and even Egland’s captain Harry Kane, but a new name has emerged on Bayern’s list as well which they would be very interested in.
With 25 goals in 29 games so far for Napoli in all competitions this season, Osimhen is quickly turning into one of the most sought-after strikers on the market, and is of special interest to Bayern due to his age, as he is perfectly in between Choupo-Moting, considered old at 34 and Tel, considered too inexperienced to be a starter for the Bavarians.

Napoli have been handed a major injury blow against AC Milan.
Bayern Munich’s interest in Osimhen came to light today, as rumours of a possible €150 million deal circulated, but with doubts around the Bundesliga team’s financial muscle being equipped for such a deal, cheaper alternatives have sprung up that could interest them.
Osimhen vs Kolo Muani for Bayern’s attention
Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo-Muani who is also 24 years old, is being touted as a significant option for Bayern Munich as he also fits what they would be looking for in a forward.
The French striker who impressed at the World Cup would be a lot less expensive than Osimhen and could cost between €70 - €100 million which is believed to be the amount Bayern has earmarked for a forward this summer.
With Osimhen’s transfer expected to cost at least €50 million more as well as higher wages and bonuses, Bayern could be tempted to go for Kolo-Muani instead.
The French attacker has scored 19 goals this term in 38 games, which is significantly less than Osimhen’s output, but he has also assisted 14 goals compared to Osimhen’s five, and his extra dimension could be another reason for Bayern to opt for him.
