Djed Spence joined Tottenham Hotspur when he was just 21 and at the time, Antonio Conte was not one of his role models owing to some of the words he said concerning the new signing.
To date, Djed Spence struggles to understand why the former Juventus manager would be so hard on him at such a young age.
He revealed that his time at Tottenham Hotspur under Antonio Conte was like walking on eggshells, insisting that Conte was always angry.
"It wasn’t a nice feeling. Especially as I was coming to the club on a high, I was confident, I was buzzing, had just won promotion,” Djed Spence revealed.
"Then it was like running into a brick wall. It shattered my confidence a bit, obviously, I’m young. It’s not nice to hear.
"Even if you did the right things, you were like, ‘Did I do the right thing?’ Cos he’s not really a complimenting guy.”
