Several players are challenging the Norwegian for the coveted prize.
The race for the golden boot is already shaping up with just six matches into the 2024-25 Premier League season after another round of matches over the weekend.
Award-winning goals have already been scored. Players have grabbed Braces, hattricks and even a haul so far, to put themselves firmly in contention to challenge Erling Haaland for the coveted golden boot.
While Haaland was kept quiet by Newcastle in the 1-1 draw, he remains a fevourite to retain his accolade after scoring 10 goals. The Norwegian scored 27 goals last season to bag the prize, despite being blighted with injuries.
Haaland has scored two hattricks so far (against West Ham and Ipswich) to open a five-goal gap against his closest challenger, but who are the those challenging the former Borussia Dortmund talisman?
Pulse Sports delves into attackers giving Haaland sleepless nights.
1) Cole Palmer-6 goals (Chelsea).
Palmer made history by becoming the first ever player to score four goals in one half of the game in the Premier League on Saturday, doing so against Brighton as The Blues came from behind to win 4-2.

History-making Cole Palmer scores four goals for Chelsea as Man City are held to a draw
Cole Palmer made history by scoring four first-half goals as Chelsea came from behind to beat Brighton 4-2, while Arsenal, Everton, and Fulham secured victories in other Premier League matches.
The England international also scored against Wolverhampton and West Ham, and could as well surpass last season's tally of 25 goals in all competition if he maintains his rich vein of form.
2) Luis Diaz-5 goals (Liverpool)
The Colombian was linked with Anfield exit throughout the summer transfer window but he opted to remain at Liverpool. The dazzling winger had been a shining light in Liverpool colors, as the reds lead the table with 15 points, winning five of their six matches.
3) Bryan Mbeumo-5goals (Brentford)
Mbeumo was tasked with filling the void left by Ivan Toney who headed to Saudi Pro League. The Cameroonian had repaid the faith shown in him by his coach by popping up with crucial goals. He is currently the go-to striker at Brentford particularly after Yoane Wissa got injured and eventually ruled out for two months a fortnight ago.
4) John Duran-4 goals (Aston Villa)
The Colombian has been a revelation off the bench after his failed move in the summer. He deserves a starting role but it's hard to see him relegating red-hot Ollie Watkins to the bench.
5) Mohamed Salah-4 goals (Liverpool)
The Egyptian scored the winning goal from the penalty spot against Wolves and has been a reliable goalscorer since his move to Liverpool in 2016. Salah is a free agent next season as he's in the final year of his contract, with talks about a new contract currently on hold.
6) Ollie Watkins-4 goals (Aston Villa)
Unai Emery trusts Watkins even when his form dips but the England international hardly disappoints. He is the reason why Villa are playing in the revamped Champions League this season. Watkins was on the scored sheet on Sunday in the 2-2 draw with Ipswich.
