Ndidi for Leciester City
It has been an impressive start to the season for the 26-year-old Super Eagles midfield star.
Ndidi has enjoyed a new lease of life under new manager Enzo Maresca following relegation from the Premier League to the Championship last season.
Under the guidance of the new man, Maresca, the Nigerian defensive midfielder has looked renewed after he was given a new role in the team.
Ndidi has featured regularly as one of two number 8s in Maresca’s 4–3-3 formation.
This new role has seen Ndidi move from a ball-winner to an interesting attacking midfielder, with his latest award a recognition for his remarkable rejuvenation.
Ndidi shares award at Leicester
With 26% of the votes, Ndidi’s brilliant strike against Southampton was chosen as the best for September, an award he shared with Mavidi, who also netted an exceptional solo goal against the Saints.
The goal against Southampton exemplifies how comfortable Ndidi looks in his new attacking role as he kept his calm to dummy his marker before netting from close range.
Ndidi has scored one goal and assisted three more in just eight starts this season for Leicester City in the Championship. He also has two goals and an assist in the EFL Cup.
