Trucha's departure from Kelantan United raises questions as he takes the helm at AFC Leopards, leaving fans curious about his past.

Twelve-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions AFC Leopards recently unveiled Tomas Trucha as their new head coach, marking his return to the den after a brief stint in December 2020.

The announcement came following the dismissal of Tom Juma, and Trucha's appointment has stirred curiosity about his abrupt departure from his previous position at Malaysia's Kelantan United.

Tomas Trucha's journey took an unexpected turn at Kelantan United, where he parted ways with the Malaysian side in April.

The catalyst for his exit, as reported by Utusan Malaysia, was a string of disappointing results that saw Kelantan United endure a six-match winless streak.

Wan Mohd Zul Ikman Wan Abdul Aziz, the Chief Operating Officer of Kelantan United, shed light on the circumstances, stating, "The decision to relieve Trucha of his duties was made after careful consideration of the team's performance."

The Malaysian publication further reported that Trucha's rest period extends until the conclusion of the Super League action in the month of Ramadan.

Wan Mohd Zul Ikman Wan Abdul Aziz hinted at a potential role for Trucha in the club's restructuring efforts, but that failed to happen.

"I do not rule out the possibility that Trucha will be given the role of Technical Director of KUFC after this," he hinted.

Trucha had assumed the role of head coach at Kelantan United in December 2022, succeeding Syamsul Saad, whose contract had been terminated.

His prior experience in the Malaysian League (M-League), coaching Penang FC for two seasons from 2021 to 2022, had positioned him as a knowledgeable and experienced figure in Malaysian football.

As the news of Trucha's appointment at AFC Leopards circulates, questions arise about his departure from the Kenyan club during his previous brief tenure.

AFC Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andugu offered insights, revealing that Trucha left the club due to an unconducive environment.

While the specifics of the issues he faced remain undisclosed, the secretary general emphasized the club's commitment to providing a favorable working environment for the coaching staff.

Tomas Trucha's first assignment with AFC Leopards is an away game against Bandari as the league enters its seventh round.

The team is looking to rebound from their recent 2-0 loss to Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji derby, and Trucha's strategic guidance will be crucial in achieving a positive result.
