UCL Champions Real Madrid find themselves in a tough spot where they risk losing key players ahead of quarter finals clash against Arsenal.

Reigning UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid face a potential setback ahead of their crucial quarter-final clash against Arsenal, as four of their key players risk suspension following a UEFA investigation.

UEFA has launched an inquiry into allegations of improper behavior by Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Dani Ceballos during Real Madrid's dramatic last-16 victory over Atletico Madrid.

The reigning champions secured their quarter-final spot after a tense penalty shootout win against their city rivals, but their celebrations have now come under scrutiny.

According to BBC Sport, television footage appeared to show Rudiger making a throat-slitting gesture towards the home crowd, while Mbappe was caught seemingly making a crotch-grabbing motion.

The alleged actions have prompted UEFA to appoint an "ethics and disciplinary inspector" to investigate the matter.

"An ethics and disciplinary inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct made by the four Real Madrid players. Further information regarding this matter will be made available in due course," stated the European Football governing body as per BBC Sport.

If found guilty, the four players could face suspensions, potentially ruling them out of Real Madrid's quarter-final ties against Arsenal on April 8 at the Emirates Stadium and April 16 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, there is no guarantee that the case will be concluded before those crucial matches.

Losing Rudiger, Mbappe, Vinicius, and Ceballos would be a significant blow to Real Madrid’s hopes of advancing to the semi-finals.

The Spanish giants are chasing a record-extending 16th Champions League title, having defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in last season’s final to claim their 15th European crown.

As the investigation unfolds, Real Madrid will be anxiously awaiting UEFA’s decision, hoping their key players remain available for one of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament.
