Police FC coach Anthony Kimani is wary of the threat that Shaban possess despite the Gusii-based side's woeful start to the season.

Police FC head coach, Anthony Kimani, has urged caution ahead of their FKF Premier League (FKF PL) fixture against Shabana, set for Sunday at the Gusii Stadium.

Despite Shabana’s difficult start to the season, Kimani remains wary of their potential to turn things around, which could make for a challenging encounter.

Shabana have struggled significantly in the 2024 season, failing to register a win in their opening six matches.

They have managed three draws but has also suffered three defeats, leaving them bottom of the league table with just three points.

This tough run has placed immense pressure on the club to perform, and Kimani believes the side’s hunger for a win could make them a dangerous opponent.

Conversely, Police FC are hoping to build on their positive start, having played only four matches so far.

While the team remains unbeaten, they have secured just one win, leaving them eager for their second victory of the season.

"It's a very important game for us given that in the four games that we've played, we've only won once so we are very eager to get our second win of the season," Kimani stated.

"We understand that it will be a very tough game because Shabana lost their last match against City Stars, so I believe they will be eager to do well and please their fans who will most definitely come out in numbers."

Kimani acknowledged the pressure on both teams, with Shabana's supporters expected to rally behind the team as they seek their first win.

However, he emphasized the importance of the match for Police FC, seeing it as an opportunity to prove their quality on the field.

"But I believe it's a good match to show what we are made of. We will give a good account," Kimani concluded, signaling his confidence in his team's ability to rise to the occasion.

Police showed resilience in their last outing, playing with 10 men to hold Sofapaka to a draw at the Dandora Stadium on Wednesday to secure a point.

The result left them placing 13th on the FKF PL log with six points.
