Muhoroni Youth chairman Moses Adagala is furious ahead of their crucial match against Gor Mahia, highlighting significant challenges.

Muhoroni Youth Football Club chairman Moses Adagala is spitting fire after learning of a sudden venue change for his side's Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match against Gor Mahia.

Muhoroni Youth, battling relegation with just four matches left in the season, was initially set to face the defending champions on Saturday, June 18 at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

However, Adagala revealed that his team received last-minute communication indicating the match will now be played on Sunday  at St Sebastian Park in Murang'a.

"To our fans and friends, I'd like to take this opportunity to enlighten you about our upcoming fixture against Gor Mahia FC. On Monday, we were informed that we'll be playing Gor Mahia in Kisumu, but later the venue was changed to Murang'a. This is a huge task put on our shoulders since I can't raise Kshs370,000 in these few days remaining to honour the match in Murang'a," Adagala stated.

Despite the setback he remains optimistic about the team's survival in the league.

"So we're working on our next home matches. To our fans, worry less because we'll be in the league come next season," he assured.

With four matches left until the end of the 2023-2024 season, every match is a final for Muhoroni Youth.

The team currently sit 17th on the table with 28 points from 30 matches, just three points away from the safe zone.

On the other side, Gor Mahia are on the brink of making history as they are now one win away from securing a record-extending 21st title and need to defeat Muhoroni Youth to achieve this feat.

After facing Muhoroni Youth, Gor Mahia will take on struggling Sofapaka, Talanta, and wind up the 2023-2024 campaign against Bidco United.

K'Ogalo lead the league with 64 points, 10 ahead of Police FC, whose recent 1-0 defeat to AFC Leopards has dimmed their hopes of lifting their first-ever league title.
