Vipers SC will face Kenya Police FC in a pre-season friendly at St Mary's Stadium in Kitende as part of Vipers Day.

Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Viper SC have announced an exciting pre-season friendly match against Kenya Police FC scheduled for Saturday, July 27th in Kampala.

This match, part of Vipers SC's preparations for the 2024/2025 season, also commemorates Vipers Day promising a unique and memorable experience for football fans in Uganda.

Vipers, under the guidance of former AFC Leopards coach Nikola Kavazovic, have strategically chosen Kenya Police as their opponents for this significant event.

In a statement, Vipers SC revealed that the match aims to foster and strengthen relations between the two clubs.

"The game will also build and strengthen the relations between the two clubs, who are both working at further growing their brands in the region, on the continent and across the globe," the statement reads.

Kenya Police are seen as an ideal opponent to challenge Vipers and provide a competitive edge in their pre-season preparations.

The squad boasts notable players such as Harambee Stars attacking midfielder Kenneth Muguna, long-serving left-back Aboud Omar, ex-Gor Mahia defender Musa Muhammad, and goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.

Despite the absence of former Vipers and KCCA striker Tito Okello, who is set for a transfer to India, Kenya Police remains a formidable team.

The Law Enforcers had a commendable 2023/24 FKF Premier League season, finishing third with 57 points from 34 matches, trailing behind runners-up Tusker and champions Gor Mahia.

Additionally, Kenya Police secured the FKF Cup by edging out KCB in the final, earning a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup and are set to face Ethiopian Coffee in the first preliminary round.

This pre-season match against Kenya Police FC is part of a broader strategy by Vipers SC to elevate their brand and foster regional cooperation.

By engaging with a respected club like Kenya Police FC, Vipers SC aims to create strong footballing ties that will benefit both clubs in the long run.

In addition to the main match, Vipers Day will feature a friendly game between the Legends of Vipers and Vipers Fans, adding a celebratory atmosphere to the occasion.

The day will also serve as the platform for unveiling the full squad for the 2024/25 season, further building excitement among the fans.

Vipers SC has a rich history of success, ncluding four Uganda Premier League titles, two Uganda Cups, and a runner-up finish in the 2011/12 Super League.
