League leaders KCB needed a last gasp winner to dispatch FC Talanta on Friday to extend their stay at the summit of the 2024/2025 league table.
KCB FC head coach Patrick 'Luwowo' Odhiambo remains cautiously optimistic despite his team’s impressive start to the FKF Premier League season (FKF PL).
The Bankers secured a dramatic late 2-1 victory over FC Talanta on Friday at Dandora Stadium, further solidifying their position at the top of the table.
Francis Kahiro's stellar form continued as he gave KCB an early lead in the 18th minute, a goal that held until halftime.
However, Talanta fought back, with Emmanuel Osoro equalizing near stoppage time. The Bankers needed a last-gasp winner from Maurice Owino deep in injury time to clinch all three points.

Shabana edge 10-man Murang'a Seal to continue with rise in FKF Premier League
Shabana secured a crucial FKF Premier League win against Murang'a Seal showcasing resilience and clinical finishing in a competitive clash.
Despite the thrilling win, Odhiambo expressed concerns about his team’s performance, highlighting areas for improvement.
"We got the winning goal very late, meaning we had to dig deep because the game was tough. We have been very slow and had a lot of mistakes, which we must rectify," said Odhiambo post-match via Tata Sport.
He attributed some of the issues to a lack of match fitness following a long break, noting, "I think it’s the long break, so maybe the match fitness has gone down."
While KCB’s 20 points from nine matches with six wins, two draws, and just one loss paints a promising picture, Odhiambo remains wary of the challenges ahead.
"We are working hard to clinch the title. We have had a good run, but the league remains very competitive. The top teams can get beaten, and the gap is not that huge," he added.
