Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has explained his decision to leave Jadon Sancho out of the starting lineup for the last two games.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has opened up on his decision to drop Jadon Sancho for Sunday's 2-1 win over Newcastle.
Sancho, who joined on loan from Manchester United this summer, was benched in favor of Pedro Neto.
This came after Sancho was subbed off at halftime in their loss to Liverpool nine days prior.

Maresca reveals reason for benching Jadon Sancho
Maresca clarified that Sancho's omission was not due to injury or fitness issues, but a deliberate "technical decision."
"Jadon's doing well since he arrived," Maresca said on Tuesday. "For sure, the players can't maintain the same level because of the huge amount of games."
He continued, "The last two games he didn't play, not for any different reason. It was a technical decision, no more than that."
Maresca reassured Sancho's importance, saying, "He's going to continue playing many games. He needs to continue working hard and, for sure, he will play."
Chelsea face Newcastle again in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and Maresca's comments suggest Sancho will feature prominently in upcoming matches.
