Gor Mahia coach Leonardo Neiva was forced to rein in on his players yet again when he dropped four from the squad that lost to Nairobi City Stars over a number of issues.

Gor Mahia coach Leonard Neiva cracked the whip on his errant players yet again when he dropped four of them for their FKF Premier League loss to Nairobi City Stars on Monday.

Gor suffered a first loss of the season when they went down 2-1 to Simba wa Nairobi, a result that left their fans furious, and they did so without Enock Morrison, Paul Ochuoga, Musa Masika and Chris Ochieng.

This after Neiva dropped the four for featuring in an amateur game ahead of the clash with City Stars which the Brazilian coach considered to be indiscipline and lack of professionalism.

Naiva told SportPesa Blog that his hand was forced to pass a strong message to the squad that he will not tolerate indiscipline and lack of professionalism given he has given them warnings but they seem not to heed them.

With Sylvester Owino, Geoffrey Ochieng, Ronney Onyango and Austin Odhiambo away on international duty, Gor were left light after the four players were dropped, and paid the price in Machakos.

K’Ogalo looked out of sorts and were rightly outplayed by their opponents to the disappointment of supporters who demanded answers from the squad, forcing captain Philemon Otieno to calm them down.

This is after Neiva had been whisked away from the angry fans who were also not happy with the attitude of the players, calling for changes if the behaviour does not stop.

It is the second time this season that Neiva is having to crack the whip after he dropped Ronney Onyango from the squad for their first two league games following a falling out with the utility player.

Gor Mahia, who have three matches in hand, have now won two of their first four league games, losing one and drawing another, to leave them in ninth place with seven points, 10 behind leaders KCB.

K’Ogalo host Murang’a Seal on Saturday in what is now a must-win if they have to take the pressure off and appease their angry supporters.
