Massive changes are expected at the Dockers before they embark on preparations for the new season.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Bandari have revealed why they appointed former Tusker midfielder Douglas Mutua as their new team manager.

The Mombasa-based side is restructuring and has started with the technical bench that is set for new faces before the new season begins, tentatively on August 26.

Mutua - a former Coast Stars head coach - is the first confirmed new member of the technical bench, and the club's official, Twaha Mbarak, revealed why they settled for the retired Harambee Stars midfielder.

"We have a new man on the technical bench, Douglas [Mutua] is our new team manager. We have settled for Mutua because of his vast experience in the game, and we know he has what it takes to help the team move forward, as we want to achieve a lot of success in the new season," Mbarak said.

Twahir Muhiddin is expected to be named as the new head coach after serving on an interim basis for the latter stages of the 2022–23 season. The experienced tactician is understood to be the only one who is going to be retained when the purge is complete.

Credible reports indicate that the officials who served in the technical bench have already been relieved of their duties, via WhatsApp messages, as the club aims to bring in fresh blood.

Former Gor Mahia goalkeeper and goalkeeper's trainer, Jerry Onyango, is expected to be appointed in the same capacity at Bandari.

The playing unit is also expected to experience a shakeup, with a number of new players already linked to moves to the Dockers

Nzoia Sugar's Hassan Beja is among those who have been heavily linked with a transfer switch to the former FKF Cup winners.
