AFC Leopards' highly anticipated AGM on Sunday was unexpectedly canceled leaving members and fans deeply disappointed.

FKF Premier League giants AFC Leopards' much-anticipated Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, June 30 at the Kasarani Auditorium Indoor Arena, failed to discuss the scheduled matters, leaving many fans and stakeholders in a state of disappointment and confusion.

The AGM, which was set to begin at 9:00 a.m., had over 5,000 fully paid-up members expected to attend.

The loyal supporters of the club had hoped to transact six critical agendas designed to propel the club closer to its targets after several years of struggles.

The agenda items included confirming the presence of a quorum, reading the notice convening the meeting, confirming minutes of the 2023 AGM, receiving the chairman's report, considering and adopting the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023 along with the auditor's report, appointing the independent auditors for the year ending 31 December 2024, and transacting any other business of which due notice had been given.

However, the meeting was abruptly canceled due to a quorum hitch as according to the club's constitution, the AGM requires at least one-third of the registered members to be present to proceed with the meeting.

"Due to a quorum hitch (the AGM did not meet one-third of the AFC Leopards SC registered members in attendance), AFC Leopards SC 2024 Annual General Meeting has been canceled," read the official statement from the club.

"As per the club constitution, the club will give a 21-day notice for a Special General Meeting. Thank you to all who took their time to attend today's meeting," the statement added.

The lack of quorum came as a surprise to many, given the high stakes and critical issues that were on the agenda.

The club's faithful had hoped for a significant turnout, especially considering the importance of the financial reports and the appointment of auditors for the upcoming year.

The club's management now faces the task of rallying the members for the upcoming Special General Meeting (SGM) to ensure that the essential matters are discussed and resolved.

The 21-day notice period is expected to provide ample time for members to prepare and attend the rescheduled meeting.

The club's supporters and stakeholders will be eagerly awaiting the new date, hoping for a successful meeting that will set a clear path for the future of AFC Leopards.
