Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has questioned the club's summer signing after the disappointing start to the season.
Paul Scholes has slammed Manchester United's recruitment strategy under Erik ten Hag, citing concerns over summer signing Joshua Zirkzee.
Scholes was speaking after the team's underwhelming 0-0 draw with Aston Villa last weekend.
The Red Devils desperately needed a strong performance at Villa Park, especially after their dismal start to the season. However, a much-changed United side struggled to create clear-cut chances, with Bruno Fernandes' free-kick hitting the crossbar being the closest they came.
The stalemate left United languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table, a dismal showing for a club of their stature.
Notably, high-profile summer signings Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, and Zirkzee were all benched.

Paul Scholes slams Ten Hag, Manchester United and Joshua Zirkzee
Scholes didn't mince words, criticising the club's recruitment mess.
"In forward areas especially, I just don't think the quality is there," he said.
"We go back to the most successful teams, they're capable of scoring goals. What have we scored? Five goals in seven games."
Scholes questioned the potential of United's forwards, including Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee.
"Look, Hojlund does alright, but is he gonna score you 20 goals? I don't think so. Zirkzee… what is he? Is he a No.9 or a No.10? Is he going to get you 20 goals? I don't think so."
