Gabriel Osho, the latest addition to Nigeria's Super Eagles, has been warmly welcomed by fans and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as he prepares to make his international debut.
The 26-year-old defender, who previously played for Luton Town, was invited to join the national team following a free transfer to Auxerre in France.

Osho had been on the Super Eagles' radar earlier this year but was unable to participate due to injury.
His recent performances in Ligue 1, including a standout showing in Auxerre's surprising victory over Marseille, have solidified his place in the squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Upon his arrival in Abidjan, where the team is currently training, Osho expressed his excitement about representing Nigeria.
The NFF welcomed him on social media with a post stating, "Welcome home, Gabby," a sentiment echoed by fans celebrating his inclusion. Supporters took to social media to highlight Osho's versatility and skill:
“Osho is the name. Our defense is settled for years,” one said, “Welcome to the best football team in the world. Welcome home, Osho!” another stated.
“Very good defender; a utility defender who can play center back or full back comfortably,” another Super Eagles supporter added.
Born in Reading to Nigerian parents from Lagos, Osho has chosen to represent Nigeria over England despite holding dual nationality.
He emphasised his commitment to giving everything for the Nigerian shirt and acknowledged the competitive nature of the squad filled with talented players.
Osho and his teammates are alread training ahead of their first match on Thursday against Benin Republic and he faces competition from established defenders like Calvin Bassey and William Troost-Ekong.
However, he remains optimistic about contributing significantly to the team's success.
The Super Eagles currently lead Group D with 10 points and need just one point from their remaining matches to secure qualification for AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
