The man who replaced Maduka Okoye in the Super Eagles Stanley Nwabali was a guest to a Nigeria-ignored defender in South Africa.
There was a mini-Nigeria reunion in South Africa as the stopper who took Maduka Okoye's Super Eagles spot Stanley Nwabali visited compatriot Olisa Ndah in an explosive DStv Premiership clash on Wednesday night.
Nwabali's Chippa United took on Ndah's Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium, with the two international teammates catching up after the encounter.

Maduka’s replacement meets Ndah
While Nwabali started and completed the full 90 minutes between the sticks for the visitors, Nigeria ignored defender Ndah remained an unused substitute for the Buccaneers.
The Super Eagles shot-stopper was ultimately powerless to prevent a 2-0 defeat as the Pirates maintained their fading title charge with goals from John Mabasa.
Nevertheless, it was another valuable experience for Nwabali who continues to stake his claim as Nigeria's first-choice goalkeeper after a heroic outing at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old seized his opportunity after replacing Maduka Okoye, who took a break from the team, during AFCON 2023, keeping three clean sheets as the Super Eagles surpassed expectations to reach the final.
Nwabali's impressive performances saw him almost pip South Africa's Ronwen Williams to the tournament's Golden Glove award and earn the No.1 jersey permanently after Francis Uzoho's demotion.
Meanwhile, Ndah continues to be overlooked at the international level despite his consistently excellent displays in the PSL prompting growing calls for his inclusion.
The commanding centre-back has been a rock at the heart of the Pirates' rearguard and was an underrated catalyst in their run to the CAF Confederation Cup final last term.
While Ndah patiently awaits his opportunity, his compatriot Nwabali has firmly established himself as a key part of the new era and will be hoping to continue that under the watchful eyes of the new Super Eagles coach Finidi George.
