Tusker coach Charles Okere has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to challenge for the FKF Premier League title and end the dominance of Gor Mahia.
Tusker coach Charles Okere has fired a warning to his team’s title rivals as he remains confident of dethroning reigning champions Gor Mahia.
Okere, who was recently confirmed as Tusker’s permanent coach, has made winning the league a priority after watching Gor Mahia walk away with the last two titles under former tactician Johnathan McKinstry.
With K’Ogalo struggling for consistency this season, Okere’s side find themselves joint top of the table with KCB, both on 24 points, while Kenya Police (23 points) and Bandari (22 points) complete the top four. K'Ogalo are fifth on the log on 21 points.

CHAN 2024: Murkomen identifies areas being given priority at Kasarani Stadium as CAF boss visits East Africa
Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed the areas that are being worked on first at Kasarani Stadium to get it ready for 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN).
That is giving Okere confidence that the brewers can finally cork the champagne bottles with a league title triumph for the first time since 2022.
“Our target remains the same, to win the league,” Okere told Telecomasia.net.
“I believe we have the capability to do that if you look at how we are playing and the results we are getting.
“The players now know that they are in a big club and the demands are huge. We have to keep working hard and every game for us is like a final.”
Okere’s side have been driven to the top by the goals of striker Ryan Ogam, who has netted 12 goals in 13 matches, a wonderful return from the young striker, while they are the top scorers in the league after scoring 23 goals.
However, one thing that might prevent them from winning the league is their leaking defence that has shipped in 18 goals so far, the worst in the division.

Gor Mahia hammer Ulinzi to inch closer to the league summit as Police FC extend winning run
Gor Mahia overcame their recent woes to deliver a convincing performance against Ulinzi Stars as Police FC extended their brilliant run with victory over FC Talanta.
It is an area of concern for Okere who is keen for defensive improvements given his main rivals KCB have let in nine while Police and Bandari have conceded just six and seven goals respectively.
Tusker have been in good form, winning four straight matches, before a shock 4-1 loss to struggling AFC Leopards, but they bounced back last weekend to triumph 2-1 over Bidco United.
