Super Eagles legend John Mikel Obi believes Enzo Maresca has the potential to compete for the Premier League title.
Maresca joined Chelsea in the summer following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
In his first season as the Blues manager, the team tried to challenge for the EPL but later fell off the pace.
They are now fighting to make the top four and are one point above Manchester City in their hunt for European football.

Enzo Maresca has received praise from former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel for his influence on the team.

He said on SkySports, "It is going well. I think I like Maresca. I have said it before, I think he's a great manager. I think he's a manager that improved the squad from where he took over.
“I think the way the team play now, you can see there is a bit of an identity, the way we want to play, the way the Chelsea fans wants the team to play but I think finishing the top four is where everybody is going to judge him at the moment.

"Because I think we need to finish in the top four. I think this is season is his first season and he needs a bit of time.
“After this season, if we finish in the top four, i think next season we can start competing for the league."
He predicts that a top-four finish this year and key signings could make Chelsea a Premier League title contender next season.
