Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson scored for Chelsea in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Cole Palmer has expressed his delight at his growing partnership with Nicolas Jackson after the duo both scored in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Senegal international Jackson has gradually settled since joining Chelsea last season, and both he and Palmer have already scored eight league goals this season.

The young English attacker has quickly become a key player for the Blues since his summer move from Manchester City.

Palmer believes his understanding of Jackson is improving with each game.

"Me and Nico work well together. We speak to each other every day and we message each other after games. We are trying to work on our relationship to help us on the pitch and hopefully that work is showing," Palmer told the club's official website.

Chelsea's impressive start to the season has seen them climb to second in the Premier League table but Palmer remains grounded.

"It's too early (to predict this season). If we keep winning then we will be near the top four. But like the gaffer said, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have been together for more than five years, whereas we've only been together for a season. We just want to keep going and winning the games," he said.

Chelsea face a busy schedule in the coming days, with matches against Southampton during the midweek and Tottenham Hotspur during the weekend.

Chelsea now share 25 points with Arsenal from 13 games, sitting nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
