Freshly capped Super Eagles star backs Nigeria to make World Cup despite dismal start.
Super Eagles defender Gabriel Osho is confident Nigeria will qualify for the 2026 World Cup in USA/Mexico/Canada, despite their dismal start to the campaign.
Osho, 26, only recently switched allegiance to Nigeria from England. The Auxerre defender has already registered two appearances for the Super Eagles, both of which came in the AFCON qualifiers.

What Osho said
Austin Eguavoen's side find themselves 5th in Group C after four games in which they only managed to pick up three points.
Osho, who was not in the team yet during those four qualifying matches, is confident the team have what it takes to turn things around, as, according to him, the Super Eagles have the best team in Africa.
“We have to focus on the World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON. After the last competition, our goal is to progress and triumph. I think we have enough talent,” Osho told Flashcore.
“The quality of our team is probably the best in Africa. It is time to assert it on the big stage.
“We have to play to our ability. I am confident we can do it. The qualification is longer in this format, so we have time. We have games that will allow us to rectify the situation.
“Everyone is eager to participate in the World Cup, and I am sure we will do everything possible. God willing, we will qualify.”
Osho will have to wait until next year to help the Super Eagles in their bid for qualifications. Nigeria play group leaders Rwanda in March 2025, and defeat could effectively spell the end of the road.
