Bournemouth opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Huijsen rose above Joshua Zirkzee to head home Ryan Christie's free kick.

Bournemouth then effectively sealed the victory with two quickfire goals early in the second half.

In the 61st minute, Kluivert converted a penalty after Noussair Mazraoui fouled the Dutch winger in the box, sending goalkeeper Andre Onana the wrong way.

Just two minutes later, Bournemouth extended their lead further as Dango Ouattara played a precise pass into Semenyo inside the box, and despite Martinez's presence, Semenyo unleashed a powerful shot past Onana, making it 3-0.

United defender Martinez said, "I always say in this kind of situation we have to show personality and character.

"We are playing so well and unfortunately, we couldn't score today. We have to believe. At this club, we have to win every game and we know that," he told BBC.
