The keeper conceded two cheap goals in the first half.

Wazito FC head coach Charles Odera has revealed that his keeper Ezekiel Owade suffered an injury that led to him being subbed off at halftime in the 2-0 loss to Tusker FC.

Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s 2-0 defeat to the Brewers, the tactician insisted that it would only be a matter of time before his side became fortunate again.

“We played a good game. They took advantage of the opportunities they got. Our keeper (Ezekiel Owade) got a muscle pull and we had to replace him (with Tom Muthomi) and it worked,” said Odera.

“We were just unlucky today. However, we still have work to do.”

Odera insists that his side must work on being more precise in the final third to become more clinical, after attempting several shots, particularly in the second half, but none hit the target.

“We have had a problem executing our final passes and our decision-making in the final third. If we can work on that, we will do better.”

It has not been a good season by any means for Wazito. First, they had to start the league late owing to an appeal made by the now third-tier sides, Fortune Sacco and APS Bomet to the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) against the decision by Football Kenya Federation to declare last season null and void.

Second, the club have had to go through different managers this season after interim head coach, Jeffers Odongo left to join Kakamega Homeboyz and former APS Bomet coach, Charles Odera took the reins as a permanent coach.

Third and most important, they are currently on a run of 19 consecutive league games without a win.

Under Odera, Wazito have played just 12 matches, losing eight and drawing three. The club has collected just a measly 13 points from 25 games.
