The Harambee Stars captain showed great skill and technique to break the deadlock for Al Duhail in their 3-3 draw with Al Arabi
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga scored a brilliant goal as Al Duhali settled for a 3-3 draw with Al Arabi in the Qatar Stars League on Saturday.
Olunga opened the scoring in the six-goal thriller and he did it in style. French midfielder Ibrahima Diallo spotted the Kenyan striker making his run towards goal before sending a sublime pass his way and Olunga stayed cool, rounded off the onrushing goalkeeper before firing into an empty net to break the deadlock after five minutes.
It was Olunga’s fourth goal in three games, but the technique displayed again why he is highly-rated given the instinct he showed by starting his run early before going past the goalkeeper.

STARS ABROAD Olunga on target yet again as Al Duhail are held to a draw in heart-throbbing encounter
The Harambee Stars captain has netted in each of Al Duhail's opening league encounters.
“Happy to be on the scoresheet once again. Draw on the road but we move forward. God above all,” Olunga said via a social media post.
However, Al Arabi equalised in the 13th minute through Abdou Diallo who then scored an own goal to hand Al Duhail a 2-1 lead in the 58th minute but Abdullah Marefee restored parity 19 minutes from time.
It set up a grand finish with Al Duhail thinking they had won it when Isamail Mohamed scored in time added on but they paid the penalty later on when Omar Al Somer converted from the spot for a share of the spoils.
Olunga has now scored in each of Al Duhail’s three league matches, starting with a strike in their 2-1 win over Al Ahli on matchday one, before grabbing a brace in their 4-1 thrashing of Muaither last week.
Olunga is joint second on the top scorers’ chart with his four goals, alongside Congo Brazzaville’s Guy Mbenza of Muaither. The two are one goal behind Algerian Yacine Brahimi who plays for Al-Gharafa.
