A goal from Nigeria’s Babajide David Akintola helped Adana Demirspor beat Ahmed Musa’s relegation-threatened Sivasspor 2-1.
Adana went ahead in the 41st minute thanks to a strike by Emre Akbaba, much to the dismay of the home crowd at the Yeni Malatyspor stadium. The away side doubled their lead in the second half after Babajide David scored in the 56th minute. The Ghanaian Isaac Cofie pulled one back for Sivasspor in the 63rd minute, but even a late introduction of Ahmed Musa could not help the home side draw the game.
Sivasspor miss a chance to pull themselves away from the relegation places, while Adana’s win keeps them at pace with the top three.
Babajide inspires Adana’s victory
The game began as an end-to-end affair, with both sides creating scoring chances and attempting shots. The deadlock would not be broken until the 41st minute when a powerful run by Senegalese midfielder Badou Ndiaye resulted in a loose ball around the penalty area for Akbaba to strike home.
Ndiaye was again involved in the second goal as he cushioned the ball from a corner, redirecting it towards the path of Babajide, who reacted quickest, heading the ball home to put his side 2-0 up.

The goal takes his tally to four in the league this season, only two behind his teammate and compatriot Henry Onyekuru, who himself had a decent game.
Isaac Cofie’s goal and Ahmed Musa’s Cameo not enough for Sivasspor
The home side pulled one back around the hour mark after Ivorian Max Gradel’s delivery from a corner was converted with a towering header by Isaac Cofie, who was left unmarked in the box.
Sivasspor had enough time to grab an equaliser, but they never managed to get it.

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa came on for Sivasspor in the 90th minute in a bid to salvage a point, but the 30-year-old only had four touches of the ball before the referee ended proceedings.
