He became a Tax Collector in the 2019/20 campaign and renewed with them in the 2021/22 season as they played the CAF Confederation Cup.

As the spending spree continues, Vipers SC have completed the signing of central defender Paul Patrick Mbowa, joining the club on a two-year employment contract till 2025.

Mbowa, who has on several occasions been deployed as a holding midfielder, has joined the Venoms from URA FC, where he has spent the last four seasons.

He became a Tax Collector in the 2019/20 campaign and renewed with them in the 2021/22 season as they played the CAF Confederation Cup.

Before joining URA, he had played for the currently non-existent Victoria University FC in the Uganda Premier League.

Regardless of deployment, Mbowa will face stiff competition from Hilary Mukundane, Rogers Torach, Murushid Juuko and Livingstone Mulondo in defence.

On the other hand, in midfiled, it will not be any easier as there is quality from the likes of Siraje Ssentamu, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Nzau Miguel Lutumba, David Bagoole and Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo alias Tinga.

He joins as the sixth signing in the ongoing transfer window after Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo alias Tinga, Richard Matovu, David Bagoole and right-back Grant Matsiko
