Vipers Sports Club have confirmed that Brazilian midfielder Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo alias Tinga suffered a long-term injury during pre-season encounters.
Tinga is among the foreign players released by the club after hardly spending three months at the club.
In a statement released on September 15, Vipers confirmed they mutually agreed to end the contract with the Brazilian due to the long-term injury.
"Tinga came as the second Brazilian player in the country and left after playing a couple of friendly games during pre-season but suffered a long-term injury," Vipers stated before adding.
"The versatile midfielder had signed two years in July, but after agreeing with the club, he will depart and return to his native."
Tinga departed without having made an official appearance for the Kitende side, apart from participating in an international friendly against AS Kigali at Kitende over a month ago.
Earlier, Pulse Uganda Sports reported that uncertainty characterised the Vipers dressing room following their exit from the CAF Champions League first preliminary round at the hands of Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy.
