The Burnley boss is reportedly keen on moving to the deposed Bundesliga champions, even if it remains to be seen if an agreement is reached between the Bavarians and the relegated Premier League side.
Bayern’s search for a new head coach has seen them fail to acquire other top targets, with Xabi Alonso preferring another year at Bayer Leverkusen, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick opting to stay with the national teams of Germany and Austria, respectively, Crystal Palace demanding a figure around €100million for Oliver Glasner and Thomas Tuchel not reaching an agreement to continue in the role.

The Bavarians are reportedly keen to offer the outgoing manager a chance to stay on, which has annoyed Steve Nicol.
The Bayern hierarchy have now seemingly keen on Kompany, who had Bundesliga experience with Hamburg as a player and won the Championship with Burnley as head coach in 2022-23.
What Nedum Onuoha said about Kompany’s potential Bayern move
Many observers see the move as a risk for the club, deposed atop the Bundesliga by Bayer Leverkusen after winning 11 consecutive titles, but Onuoha thinks otherwise.
"He's absolutely up for this job, and it's a great opportunity," said Onuoha, Kompany's teammate at Manchester City for several years. “The value of him being a former Manchester City player, someone who’s played in the Bundesliga and understands German football, I think that is key.
“A lot of people are looking at the way that Burnley played this season, the fact they went down and saying ‘maybe the job is too big for him’ but you go back a year and he had 101 points in the Championship, and they were saying ‘this is a guy that can go anywhere, maybe could be going to City or maybe could be going to Spurs’.
“I consider that interesting because in a year is he a bad manager now? For me, I don't believe so. I think he's still the same manager. Obviously, the Premier League ended up being too difficult for himself and the team.
“But I think he can go there and do well. The profile of manager that maybe Bayern need in this moment is probably more suited to a Vincent Kompany, and he is someone who will arrive there without the ego but will arrive with belief and he will command a level of respect.”
What comes next for Kompany and Bayern?
Reports suggest Kompany has agreed terms with Bayern and the Bundesliga giants hope to strike a deal with Burnley sooner rather than later.
