The sponsorship package worth $1,250,000 (over Shs4.5B) for five years will be unveiled on July 27th at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Uganda Premier League record holders SC Villa have secured a substantial million-dollar sponsorship deal with a yet-to-be-confirmed Chinese company, Pulse Sports can confirm.

The sponsorship package worth $1,250,000 (over Shs4.5B) for five years will be unveiled on July 27th at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

"Each year, the club with get $250,000 (about Shs900m) for five years," a source told this website.

It is understood that in the deal, $80,000 (Shs290m) will cater for the team's salaries mainly, while $170,000 (Shs617m) will be invested in a sports complex (stadium).

The budget for the stadium construction will be in addition to Shs3B the club received from the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) as compensation for taking over their Villa Park facility in Nsambya.

According to the source, Villa president Omar Mandela confirmed all this during a fans' leadership meeting held by City Oil Kamwokya on July 11th, 2023.

It is a massive development by arguably the most successful club in the country.

Villa is undertaking a long renaissance process as they aim to return to their glory days when they dominated football in the country.

Last season, they finished third in the Uganda Premier League, losing the league title on the season's final day by just one point to eventual champions, Vipers SC.
