Kenya's finest, Vihiga Queens, set to showcase talent at the CECAFA zonal qualifiers

The 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League regional qualifiers are just around the corner, and all eyes are on Kenya's formidable Vihiga Queens as they gear up to dominate Group B at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.

The CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers slated to run from August 12th to 30th, promises a fierce display of talent, tenacity, and determination as top teams from the region vie for a coveted spot in the continental final in Ivory Coast.

Vihiga Queens, the reigning champions of Kenya, are no strangers to success, having consistently proven their mettle on the domestic front. 

The opening clash on Sunday, 13th August, will see Vihiga pitted against the spirited New Generation from Zanzibar. 

Just three days later, on August 16th, Vihiga Queens will face off against Rwanda's very own AS Kigali Queens in an afternoon kickoff at the same venue. 

On August 19th, the Vihiga Queens will conclude their Group B campaign against the resilient JKT Queens of Tanzania. 

The stakes could not be higher, as the triumphant team from the qualifiers will earn the privilege of representing the CECAFA region at the continental final in Ivory Coast.

The showdown in Ivory Coast, scheduled from November 5th to 19th, will bring together the best clubs from across Africa, and Vihiga Queens is determined to leave an indomitable impression on the continental stage.

Former Harambee Starlets tactician Charles Okere will lead the four times Football Kenya Federations Women Premier League (FKFWPL) champions in the tournament.

Pool A: Kampala Queens (Uganda), C.B.E FC (Ethiopia), F.A.D FC (Djibouti), Buja Queens (Burundi), and Yei Joints FC (South Sudan)

Pool B: Vihiga Queens (Kenya), JKT Queens (Tanzania), AS Kigali (Rwanda), New Generation FC (Zanzibar).
