Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama is not ruling out the option of turning out alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi after ending his five-year stay at CF Montreal.
Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has expressed a desire to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo after officially leaving MLS club CF Montreal.
Wanyama’s departure was confirmed by the club on Thursday, bringing an end to his near five-year spell at the club, and he is now exploring his options.
One of the options he is not ruling out is a move to mega rich Saudi Arabia where top stars have moved to in the last two years, including Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who now plays for Al-Nassr.

Victor Wanyama sparks transfer speculation with visit to former team
Victor Wanyama left fans guessing where he could be playing next year following a visit to one of his former sides on Tuesday.
“To play alongside someone like Cristiano is huge, he is an icon who everybody would love to have in his team,” Wanyama said on The Sick Podcast.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton midfielder feels he still has a lot in the tank to feature for one of the top teams and is open to a move anywhere even if a link up with Ronaldo does not materialise.
“I still believe I can play anywhere for two seasons in the top level and then maybe continue with the lower leagues but I still believe I still have good fuel for two years. I've been everywhere now, to be honest, I'm open to trying other leagues like Turkey, Saudi, and Asian leagues or maybe stay in the MLS,” he added.
Wanyama was among eight out-of-contract players who Montreal opted against extending their stay and leaves having been their highest earner on an annual salary of $1.8 million (Ksh233 million).
The Kenyan international was Montreal’s Designated player (allowed to be paid beyond the MLS salary cap), and his departure will free up space on the roster and wage bill for the club to bring in another marquee name.
Wanyama made 133 appearances while scoring six goals across all competitions for CF Montreal and won the Canadian Championship in 2021.
