His journey has taken him from Kenya to Scotland, where he made a name for himself with Celtic between 2011 and 2013.

Wanyama later moved to England, where he played in the Premier League with Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur, before heading to the United States to join Montreal.

Despite these travels, Wanyama has always maintained a permanent residence in Nairobi’s upscale Kileleshwa neighborhood whenever he was not engaged with football abroad.

However, with his recent return to Scottish football, Wanyama is considering making the country his long-term home.

The former Kenyan international recently joined Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic, marking his return to the country where he first gained prominence in European football.

Speaking at his unveiling press conference for Dunfermline Athletic, Wanyama expressed his admiration for Scotland and its people.

“I played here before, and I would say the people in Scotland are nice. It's one of my favorite countries to live in. The people are always friendly, walking with smiles. My wish was to come back one day, play again, and maybe even live here because the people are so welcoming,” he stated.

Wanyama’s connection to Scotland dates back to his time at Celtic, where he established himself as a key midfielder before securing a high-profile move to the Premier League.

His return to Scottish football with Dunfermline Athletic signals a full-circle moment in his career, and his openness to making Scotland his permanent residence underscores his fondness for the country.

As Wanyama embarks on this new chapter with Dunfermline, it remains to be seen whether he will officially relocate to Scotland.

However, his deep appreciation for the culture and warm reception he has received suggests that he may soon call Scotland home.
