Victor Okoh Boniface, the dynamic striker for Bayer 04 Leverkusen, has openly expressed his admiration for Arsenal, a passion he's nurtured since childhood.

Currently shining in the Bundesliga with an impressive record of ten goals and seven assists in just sixteen appearances, Boniface is a crucial part of Xabi Alonso's squad, which is making a significant push for the title.

Mikel showers praise on Leverkusen forward

John Mikel Obi, the former Chelsea midfielder and 2013 AFCON winner, didn't hold back in his praise for Boniface during an episode of the Obi One Podcast. "What a talent he is, Boniface is another young kid on the block. He’s got the physique and he’s technically gifted, he’s really special. He’s going to be a complete striker very soon, and I can’t wait for what his journey will be like in the coming years," said Obi, recognizing Boniface's potential to become a complete striker.

In a recent conversation, Boniface revealed his lifelong allegiance to Arsenal, a surprising detail for many.

Speaking about Granit Xhaka, a fellow summer signing, he said, "Granit brings experience. He brings maturity, he talks to us. Right from a young age, I’ve been supporting Arsenal. I’ve been an Arsenal fan all my life, so I understand the things you say about Granit." This statement not only highlights his respect for Xhaka's role at Arsenal but also his deep-rooted connection to the club.

Interestingly, Boniface didn't start his football journey as a striker. He shared insights into his evolution from an attacking midfielder, a role he played before moving to Europe. Growing up, he was inspired by former Arsenal midfielders, stating, "To be honest, during my childhood, I wasn’t a striker. I was a midfielder before I moved to Europe. I watched a lot of Cazorla, Nasri, and I try to help the team so I can get out of tight spaces."

As earlier reported by Pulse Sports, Boniface will miss the 2023 AFCON due to a muscular problem. He has been replaced by Nice striker, Terem Moffi, who will now join the Super Eagles squad as they head to Ivory Coast.
