The Gunners drew at Goodison Park on Saturday, strengthening Liverpool’s grip on the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta has revealed what annoyed him about Arsenal’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Everton on Saturday.

The Gunners were looking to cling on to fading hopes of a first title since 2004 by reducing the lead to nine points, but could only pick up a point at Goodison Park.

Despite both teams struggling to create enough clear chances, Leandro Trossard scored for Arsenal in the opening half, continuing his trend of scoring at Everton's ground.

However, Everton equalised through an Iliman Ndiaye penalty shortly after the second half began.

The Toffees’ penalty early in the second half changed the game's momentum, although neither could clinch the game’s decisive goal.

Even though extended their unbeaten Premier League run to 11 games, Arteta was unhappy with his team’s start to the second half, culminating in Myles Lewis-Skelly fouling Jack Harrison in the penalty area to concede a penalty.

“Especially with the result very unhappy, very tough place to come, a team who is very physical and direct,” remarked the Arsenal boss at full-time. “If you don't deal with it, it's hard to get momentum. The start of the second half was very poor."
