URA FC head coach Sam Timbe has been declared dead, at the age of 69, the club has confirmed.
Timbe, a respected figure in the football community, was declared dead on Saturday afternoon at St. Catherine Hospital along Lumumba Avenue, Kampala.
The club officially confirmed the news, stating, "It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of our head coach Sam Timbe as he was being rushed to Nakasero Hospital for Intensive Care as referred by St. Catherine Hospital."
Pulse Sports has gathered that just the day before his passing, Timbe was actively engaged in his coaching duties, overseeing the first team's training session.
However, during the session, he reportedly began feeling unwell, complaining of a fever.
Recognizing the need for immediate medical attention, Timbe left the team camp at Standard Hotel to seek treatment.
His situation seemed to worsen overnight. After being admitted to St. Catherine Hospital, his health continued to deteriorate, prompting the medical staff to refer him to Nakasero Hospital.
Sadly, upon arrival, he was pronounced dead.
Born on January 1, 1954, Timbe has been a beacon of dedication and commitment to football.
His death is not only a loss to URA FC but to the broader football fraternity. The football community joins together in mourning the loss of such a significant figure in sports.

Born January 1, 1954 to late Stanley and Dorothy Wabuteya of Bikibumbi of Bubulo, Manafa District.
He went to Bupoto Primary School, Nabumali High School and Tororo College.
He played for only one club – Coffee FC He was part of the national team from 1978-1983 but was never capped.
As coach, he won league titles with SC Villa (2004), Atraco (2008) and Young Africans (2010/2011).
He’s also the only coach to win four Cecafa Cup titles with four different sides; SC Villa (2005), Police (2006), Atraco (2009) and Young Africans (2011). This makes him the most successful tactician in the tournament.
The sides he has handled include Coffee, Police, Lyantonde, UPDF, Mbale Heroes, She Kobs, Uganda Youth team (U-19), Simba FC, SC Villa, Uganda Cranes assist coach, Atraco (Rwanda) and Yanga (Tanzania).
