According to an ultimatum by the club's management, should Dogo fail to win his next two fixtures against defending champions Rivers United and seven-time champions Rangers, he'd lose his job.
Following his team's goalless draw in their week four fixture of the 2023 Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) season, Wikki Tourists manager Kabiru Dogo has stated that the club's poor form is never due to a technical problem.
The Bauchi club since the start of the new season, have failed to win a game, losing three of their opening Group B fixtures: against Niger Tornadoes, Dakkada and Bayelsa United before picking up their first point of the season in a 0-0 draw with Doma United on Sunday.
Their poor form, unfortunately, sees the club deep in the relegation zone in Group B.
I am never Wikki Tourists problem, Dogo says
Due to the bad start to the season, a letter dated January 29, 2023, was issued to the Wikki Tourists boss by the club's management, demanding that he leads his team to two victories in his next two matches.
Despite acknowledging that things are not going well with his team, Dogo has come out to state that he is never the problem.
"I am not aware of any ultimatum as I am talking to you, I am never the problem at Wikki Tourists," Dogo said in response to the two-match ultimatum he was issued. "The team's poor form isn't a technical-related issue.
“The letter should have been sent to me personally but that was never the case. I only knew about this development from friends and family members who were calling me to confirm about the authenticity of the release.
“Hopefully the team will bounce back to reclaim their place amongst the top teams in the group," he concluded.
Two must win matches for Dogo
Week 5 of the 2023 season will see Wikki Tourists travel to Port-Harcourt to face defending champions and Group B leaders Rivers United, at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium on Wednesday.
After that, Dogo's men will then take on struggling Rangers, Abia Warriors and high-flying Lobi Stars in the succeeding three league fixtures.
According to the ultimatum issued to Dogo by the club's management, should he fail to win his next two fixtures against the defending champions and seven-time champions Rangers, he will lose his job.
