Ulinzi Stars forward Enosh Ochieng has explained the impact of their huge victory over AFC Leopards over the weekend.
Ulinzi Stars striker Enosh Ochieng believes their 2-0 victory over AFC Leopards in the FKF Premier League, achieved on Sunday, November 3, at Meru’s Kinoru Stadium will be a huge confidence booster as they attempt to finish as high up the table as possible.
Goals from Yakeen Mutheli in the 69th minute and Boniface Muchiri in added time secured the team’s second win of the season, bringing a welcome morale boost to the Ulinzi camp.
Ochieng, known for his experience and eye for goal, emphasised the positive momentum gained from this win, particularly as it marked a turnaround for the Soldiers, who had previously endured five winless games with three draws and two losses.

Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee Shares humorous tale on how he humbled Emmanuel Adebayor-inspired Togo 3-0 during his first Harambee Stars stint
Mulee has hilariously reconted how he managed to upstage Togo, inspired by legendary former striker Emmanuel Adebayor in 2002 during his first ever stint in charge of Harambee Stars at Kasarani.
Now riding a two-game winning streak after victories over Posta Rangers and AFC Leopards, Ochieng is hopeful that the team can sustain this energy moving forward.
“The win against AFC Leopards is a big boost to the team's morale, and I hope we can leverage that confidence in our next matches after the international break,” Ochieng shared with Mozzart Sport.
He explained that the squad’s initial struggles this season stemmed from substantial changes in the lineup. A number of senior players left, replaced largely by younger talent, which required a period of adjustment as the new roster began to gel.

‘Stay on your lane’ – Michael Olunga savagely claps back at hateful fan for discrediting his work
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga had to shut down a critical fan who sought to water down the work he is doing with his MOFA Academy.
“We were still getting to gel as a team after the exodus of our senior players who were replaced by largely young players,” Ochieng said. Despite the early challenges, he had faith in his teammates' abilities to steer the team in the right direction, adding, “We were confident that we would get better as all of us could see the quality in the team.”
While the recent successes have shown promise, Ochieng remains grounded. He believes Ulinzi Stars still have room for improvement before they reach their peak potential.
“We are not yet where we want to be and where our potential can reach,” he concluded. “So, we will just keep working hard and correcting the mistakes that we see in each and every match.”
Ulinzi Stars currently sit in seventh place in the league standings and are looking forward to their next challenge on November 23, when they take on Bidco United.
With Ochieng and the rest of the team’s determination to build on their recent successes, the Soldiers aim to continue climbing the ranks in the weeks ahead.
