AFC Leopards have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with the signing of Kakamega Homeboyz's James Ssetuba.

AFC Leopards’ latest signing, James Ssetuba has issued a heartfelt message to the club's supporters after officially joining the squad.

The Ugandan goalkeeper was unveiled on Monday, February 17, as the club strengthened its goalkeeping department in a bid to enhance squad depth.

Ssetuba expressed his delight at joining the historic club, stating that it was a dream come true for him.

“I am happy to have finally made this move. I feel good and relieved to join such a big and historical team. It is a privilege to be here because it is a dream for any player to get such an opportunity,” he said during his unveiling.

Addressing the club’s passionate fanbase, Ssetuba acknowledged their unwavering support, which serves as motivation for the players.

“I love the way they support the team. They travel around with the team, and it's a big motivation for us to do better. My target is to be a champion with the team and be the best goalkeeper in the league,” he added.

Ssetuba joins AFC Leopards from FKF Premier League side Kakamega Homeboys on a two-year contract.

His arrival adds competition to an already strong goalkeeping department that includes Maxwell Mulili Opiyo, Levis Opiyo Katasi, and Josphat Musha.

He has been assigned the number 28 jersey and has already linked up with his teammates at the club’s training base.

His signing comes as Leopards push to strengthen their squad for a title challenge.

The club currently sits fourth on the FKF Premier League table with 33 points, trailing league leaders Kenya Police by eight points.

Ingwe secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Mara Sugar in their most recent outing at Awendo Stadium on Saturday.

With Ssetuba’s addition, AFC Leopards will be hoping to mount a stronger challenge in the title race as they aim to bridge the gap at the top of the standings.
