The Uganda Under-20 beat Mozambique 6-0 in the first leg on Saturday away in Maputo and are all but through to the second round.

Uganda Queen Cranes will use the second leg of their first-round Under-20 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier against Mozambique to polish their moves.

The Uganda Under-20 beat Mozambique 6-0 in the first leg on Saturday away in Maputo and are all but through to the second round.

Agnes Nabukenya and Hadijah Nandago both grabbed a brace as Margaret Kunihira and Eva Naggayi put the contest to bed.

However, despite the blistering form, goalkeeper Lilian Nakirya feels the team had some spots of bother that need to be worked on.

“We managed to score six goals without conceding, but we made several mistakes,” Nakirya said after their penultimate pre-match training on Wednesday.

“The coaches have been working with us to rectify that, so we expect to have a better game on Friday and keep a clean sheet as well,” Nakirya added.

Uganda will host the Mozambicans on Friday afternoon at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The winner of this tie will face the winner in the pairing between Senegal and Benin in the third round.

Only two teams from the continent will represent Uganda at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup to be held in Colombia next year.
