Uganda national Women's u-18 coach Ayub Khalifa has named Shakira Nyinagahirwa as a captain alongside Hadijah Nandago and Catherine Nagadya ahead of CECAFA U18.
Newly-appointed Uganda Women’s Under-18 captain Shakirah Nyinagahirwa wants her troops to correct the mistakes that failed them to qualify for the U17 World Cup when they head for CECAFA U18 later this month in Nairobi, Kenya.
The team’s head coach Ayub Khalifa has maintained Nyinagahirwa as a captain alongside Hadijah Nandago and Catherine Nagadya as her respective deputies.
The trio, together with 15 others who have been summoned, were part of the team that was ousted by Ethiopia in the second round of qualifiers in March last year.

Ayub Khalifa was slotted in as the team's acting coach after being hastily named the Uganda Queen Cranes (U20) on Sunday.
The tie ended 3-3 on average as the Ayub Khalifa-coached side bowed out on away goal difference; Nandago scored a brace at home while Nyinagahirwa netted the away goal.
“I am happy that we have been summoned to be part of this team. I know we are a group of talented players that are capable of performing well,” Nyinagahirwa said
“Together with my teammates, I know we shall work hard to make sure we perform better than last year,” the skipper reminded the team.
