Dedicated Uganda Cranes superfan, known for vuvuzela prowess, sends heartfelt message to injured Gor Mahia midfielder.

Passionate Uganda Cranes fan Kyazze Khassim has reached out to Gor Mahia midfielder Rogers Mugisha as the talented footballer continues his journey to recovery from a nagging hamstring injury.

Mugisha had earned a coveted call-up to the provisional Uganda Cranes squad for the highly-anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, raising hopes that he would be fit in time for last Friday crucial clash against Guinea.

However, the fitness test did not swing in his favor, and Uganda suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat, leaving fans like Khassim yearning for Mugisha's presence on the field.

"Rodgers' presence was missed in that midfield, and everyone here wishes him a quick recovery. I have been following him at Gor Mahia since he joined, and I am happy that he got selected.

I believe coach Paul Put will keep getting impressed by him when he recovers, and he is one of the players who can help Uganda qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup," Khassim told Pulse Sports.

Mugisha's injury woes began during Gor Mahia’s FKF Premier League clash against Bidco United on a fateful Saturday, October 28.

This setback forced him to sit out subsequent matches against Shabana, Kenya Police, and Murang’a Seal.

As his recovery timeline remains uncertain, fans eagerly await news of his return, hoping for his timely comeback in time for Gor Mahia’s match against Muhoroni Youth on Sunday, November 26.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes are gearing up for their next qualifier against Somalia on Tuesday, November 21, in a bid to secure their place in the 2026 World Cup.

With the absence of Mugisha keenly felt by the team and their supporters, all eyes will be on his recovery progress and his potential return to bolster the squad.

While the next World Cup Qualifiers are set for June 3, 2024, with Uganda facing Botswana, fans like Khassim remain hopeful that Mugisha's resilience and determination will play a pivotal role in helping the Cranes soar to new heights in the world of international football.

Khassim, a prominent figure among thousands of soccer fans in East Africa, is renowned for his unwavering support of the Uganda national team.

Adorned in vibrant body paint, he often leads a spirited band of traveling fans, whose passionate cheers have, on many occasions, silenced the home crowd.

Despite narrowly missing a visa to witness Uganda Cranes play Guinea in Morocco, Khassim did not miss a beat.

He made his presence felt by cheering on the Rugby Cranes during Safari Sevens at RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi over the past weekend, showcasing his vuvuzela blowing and cheering skills that can only be compared to Freddie Make, the inventor of the trumpet that gained fame during the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa.
