Uganda have appointed Put, who was in charge of Harambee Stars when they won the 2017 CECAFA title on home soil, as new head coach.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have appointed former Harambee Stars head coach Paul Put as their new coach after failing to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast next year.
The Belgian coach takes charge of the dugout, taking over from Serbian coach Milutin Sredojević, who had been charge of the side for two years before leaving.
Morley Beyekwaso had been taking charge of the side in an interim capacity following the departure of Sredojević
Put was manager of the Gambian national team between 2008 and 2011, before being appointed as manager of Burkina Faso in March 2012.
With Burkina Faso, he managed to get to the semi-finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, which were held in South Africa.
Put left his role as Burkina Faso manager in February 2015, before becoming manager of Jordan in June 2015.

He became the manager of the Kenyan national team in November 2017, before resigning in February 2018.
