The German side have all their season's eggs in this basket as Tuchel aims for glorious end.

A big Champions league night beckons as two European giants, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid slug it out in the first semifinal leg in Germany on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos have have history and momentum on their side as they have won 3 of their last 5 matches against the Bavarian. That, coupled with Bayern’s torrid form this year leave Carlo Ancelotti’s charges as firm favorites.

As it stands

In the history of the champion’s league, no single matchup has taken place more often than Bayern vs. Madrid. Both teams have won the competition numerous times collectively between themselves and they are known for the level of experience and determination they display at this stage of the competition.

Thomas Tuchel aims to outfox the Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, like the way he did the premier league leader’s coach Arteta. His only focus is the champion’s league now that possibilities of domestic glory were taken away by the unbreakable Leverkusen. On the other hand, Los Vikingos still are aiming for the La Liga trophy and their record 15th champion’s league title.

Will this be the end of the road for Tuchel and Bayern? All this will be determined by the line ups today.

Team news

According to reports from the media, Bayern will play without their star defender Matthijs de Ligt as he missed training all week. This will be a big blow to the German club as the Dutchman had formed a strong partnership with their former Tottenham defender Eric Dier.

However, Kim Min-jae is the best candidate to replace him, while Joshua Kimmich and Mazroui will be assigned the wide defensive areas of the pitch.

Madrid have Bayern outnumbered in terms of midfield prowess as they boast of an inform Modric, Bellingham, Tchoumeni, Kroos and so many other good players on their bench. The giant Goretzka and Laimer, therefore will have to work hard to close the gaps and minimize the threat as this competition is mostly determined by a team’s strength in the middle of the park.

On the attacking front, Bayern have their goal machine Harry Kane who has registered 42 goals in his debut season, one more goal than his previous best for Spurs in the 2017-18 season.

The English man is on the race for the top scorer against the electric Kylian Mbappe. He will play alongside Sane and Gnabry after Tuchel confirmed they will be fit for the match.

The attacking trio will be accompanied by Jamal Musialla in the attacking midfield position.

The attacking quadruple will be go against the white wall consisting of Lucas Vasquez who will replace Carvajal at rightback after picking up a yellow card that will cost him this match.

Rudiger will play alongside Nacho considering their good job keeping Haaland quiet when they faced the English champions two weeks ago. In left back, the speed merchant Mendy will be ready to run down the wing for them.
