Matchday one was packed with goals and amazing moments
The new format of the Champions League kicked off with some great moments a provided glimpses of what is to come in the future.
The road to Munich began with Juventus beating PSV 3-1. Their win was inspired by their number 10 teenager Kenan Yildiz who produced a moment of magic before Weston McKennie and Nicolas Gonzalez added to Juventus' scores. PSV got their consolation through Ismael Saibari.
Aston Villa ended their 40 year long wait with a strong 3-0 win away at Young Boys. Ollie Watkins, Youri Teilemans and Amadou Onana the scorers.
Liverpool went behind early in the match against AC Milan when Cristian Pulisic scored from an Alvaro Morata assist. The mercy side reds responded scoring three times through defenders Ibrahim Konate and Vigil Van Dijk before Dominik Szoboszlai made it 1-3.
In Munich, Harry Kane opened his UEFA Champions League account with 4 goals against Dynamo Zagreb. Michael Olise also scored twice on his Champions League debut with Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane and Rafael Guerreiro all getting a goal each.
Real Madrid began their defence for the title a little bit shaky. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for their team before an equalizer was scored by Deniz Undav. Luka Modric was brought on to bring more control in the game and it paid off after he assisted the second goal Antonio Rudiger before newly wed Endrick finished off the scoring.
Sporting defeated Losc Lille 2-0 with Arsenal and Chelsea target Viktor Gyokeres scoring their first goal before Zeno Debast added a second.
